HOW IT WORKS
Off-board is a server based navigation: data is stored
on a central server, without using mobile device’s
memory space. The application can be sent by MMS
for immediate, one-click activation.
UbiNav actually connects to server only when user
requests searches, views maps or calculate routes.
UbiNav disconnects the phone at the end of data
download and manages navigation in local mode. This
allows immediate navigation start while still
downloading entire route.
Re-routing: when a route is requested, servers send to
mobile device a wider corridor containing the resulting
route: if user makes a wrong turn or misses a
prescribed turn, the system can automatically re-route
without contacting the server again.
A proprietary technology for data optimization store
allows to download a 100 km route in few seconds.
